The Agony

So the military has this "great" thing called Space-A travel.  It allows you to ride for free on airplanes all over the world.  Unless there is no room, or the plane cancels, or someone else has a higher priority...  It is a great deal if you can afford to burn half of your leave waiting for a flight to your destination, then burn the other half trying to get back.    Why do I lament so?  It is now Saturday afternoon.  We have been trying to travel Space-A since Thursday, with no modicum of hope available until Sunday, and only two more remote chances after that before we turn back into pumpkins and have to stay put.  Space-A.  Might as well call it Freakin'-A.

  1. Having a positive space ticket in hand can be just as difficult. Our plane was 3 hours late so I missed my connection to Portland. US Air rebooked me on the morning flight to Portland arriving there at 0936. That is what they told us. Actually, it landed at 0936 in Chicago. On its way to Phoenix. On its way to Portland. We screamed loud enough, had the 0936 ETA in writing and were at least able to get first class seats on all 3 flights. But I feel for you since I have sat and prayed for an open seat for my travels. Miss all of you.
